Terms apply to American Express benefits. See the cardholder agreement for terms and restrictions.
American Express was founded as an express mail company in 1850 by Henry Wells, William Fargo and John Warren Butterfield. When Butterfield objected to the idea of extending the business’ reach to California, Wells and Fargo started what eventually became Wells Fargo. Today, though separate companies, both company names are attached to global financial institutions and offer a wide selection of business credit cards.
